Maidenhead, 23rd April 2010 - Following the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation's recommendation for the introduction of a shingles vaccination programme for people aged 70 to 79 years, conditional on the vaccine being purchased at a cost-effective price,1 Sanofi Pasteur MSD is committed to bring Zostavax®, the only licensed herpes zoster vaccine, to the UK as soon as possible. The procurement exercise to purchase the vaccine was announced by the Department of Health on 31st January 2010.
